Justin Bieber accused of stealing a melody, but it's actually Spice loop
Justin Bieber released his fifth studio album last week titled ‘Changes. In the album there is one song that has gained some attention for the wrong reasons. It appears the song titled ‘Running Over’ has a melody loop that is pretty much exactly the same as another song recently released titled ‘Synergy’ by the artist Asher Monroe.
Fans of Asher immediately recognized the loop and are calling for justice for their artist which released the song back in April of 2019. However it appears that Monroe found and used the already pre-made loop as well for his song. The catchy melodic loop actually came from the popular sampling company ‘Splice’. Splice is a popular royalty free sample library that users pay to download and use pre produced loops and samples. It is 100% legal to use the samples and edit/alter them in any way with a Splice paid membership.
This isn’t the first time nor will it be the last that we hear the same splice sample loop on different records. Because of this, Bieber does not have to worry about a lawsuit. On a positive note for Asher Monroe, he can take this free publicity to gain recognition on his own music.
